A 6 level, 300,000 SF, 1000-car precast concrete parking garage, supported on deep foundations. The pedestrian bridge was designed for Marshall University to connect between a new parking garage and Henderson Center. The unique design of this bridge allows the steel support columns to be minimized to only four. The 27 inch deep bridge girder clear spans approximately 70 feet and cantilevers approximately 20 feet on each end. This girder carries the load of the roof, floor and architectural finishes. Lateral stability is provided by braced frames located at the column centerlines and by moment connected members.
