Tidewater Community College/Advanced Technology Center - Virginia Beach, VA A new two-story, 137,000 SF Advanced Technology Center for the Virginia Beach Campus of Tidewater Community College. The design consists of a steel frame, masonry classroom building plus renovation of 16,000 SF of existing academic/administrative space. 61,000 SF allocated for college space; 76,000 SF allocated to Virginia Beach Public School System. The building contains 28 classrooms and 3 major computer laboratories. A small-business development center offers employee training for local businesses. The center will provide high-tech training to high school and college students in areas such as engineering sciences, manufacturing, industrial and information technology and telecommunications. The facility includes "smart" classrooms and computer-based teaching laboratories for several areas of study, including engineering, electronics, software and network design and installation, business applications, computer-aided graphics, and information systems technologies.
